Compost is to so good for a garden, it helps to enrich the soil. Many people have their own compost piles in their yards for these reasons. But there are other methods people can use to make compost if they have limited space. Some apartment dwellers even compost. So what do these people use to develop their compost in? A compost machine ideal for these people.

With this machine, you can compost right in your kitchen if you choose to. It does not take up that much space. Place your kitchen scraps into the compost machine and within a short period of time you can have compost. Some of the machines work faster than others so you just have to read the manufacturer’s instructions on how long it will take. Some of these machines can handle up to 5 pounds of waste a day and you can have compost in 2 weeks.

There are many things you can put into your machine for composting. Fruit peelings and vegetable peelings are at the top of the list. They are great for composting and break down easily. These should be chopped up though not just left in big chunks. They will breakup faster this way.

You can put parts of plants that are played out in the compost machine too. If you have houseplants and plants from the outside that have died or the blooms are dead, put those into be composted. Eggs shells that have been rinsed off can also be added to the materials to be processed. Coffee grounds, tealeaves, and tea bags are good additives too. These can add a bit of acid into the mix. Some plants grow better in soil that is slightly acidic.

Cooked vegetables that have no butter or fat in them can also be used in this process. You can rinse the veggies thoroughly if they have had any fat on them though. These are ideal to add to the other waste in the machine. Many times, you have leftovers from meals that do not get used up. It is better to use these leftovers in the compost than allow them to become a science project in your refrigerator.

There are some things that you may not want in your compost though. You do not want to place diary or meats into be processed through the compost machine. Meats and dairy spoil quite rapidly and smell real bad. If you have the machine in your house this could be a big problem.

With so much waste going on in the world today, it makes sense to make your own compost. You can cut down on the amount of garbage you put out for trash pickup, while turning some of your garbage into a very useful material. Put your waste items into your compost machine. Then in a short period of time you can spread your compost onto your garden and watch it grow and blossom beautifully.
